Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa
Arrive at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa and transfer to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Addis Ababa – Bale Mountains National Park
Drive 400 km southeast to Bale Mountains, enjoying the scenic landscapes and observing Ethiopia’s diverse cultural groups along the way. Overnight camping at the park headquarters.
Day 3: Dinsho – Adelay
Start trekking from Dinsho to Adelay (16 km), passing Gaysay Grassland and woodland areas. Spot endemic antelopes such as Mountain Nyala and Menelik’s Bushbuck. Overnight at Adelay Campsite.
Day 4: Adelay – Sodota
Trek 18 km through moorlands and alpine scenery with a chance to see the rare Ethiopian Wolf and various birds of prey. Overnight at Sodota Campsite.
Day 5: Sodota – Keyrensa
Trek 20 km to Keyrensa Campsite, enjoying panoramic views and spotting raptors and Ethiopian Wolves along the way. Overnight at Keyrensa Campsite.
Day 6: Keyrensa – Rafu
Steep trek to Rafu Campsite (20 km) through volcanic landscapes and rock pillars. Observe Rock Hyrax, birds of prey and other wildlife. Overnight at Rafu Campsite.
Day 7: Rafu – Gerba Guracha
Trek 22 km across the Sanetti Plateau, the largest Afro-alpine area in Africa, reaching Gerba Guracha Campsite. Explore the alpine lake, “Black Lake,” and surrounding wilderness. Overnight at Gerba Guracha Campsite.
Day 8: Gerba Guracha – Konte – Goba
Walk 6 km to the main road through giant lobelias and meet your vehicle for transfer to Goba town. Overnight at Goba Hotel.
Day 9: Goba – Lake Langano
Drive to Lake Langano, stopping at Abyata-Shalla National Park for birdwatching and wildlife spotting. Relax by the lake, which is free of crocodiles and bilharzia. Overnight at Sabana Lodge.
Day 10: Lake Langano – Addis Ababa
Drive back to Addis Ababa for a city tour and shopping. Enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant with folkloric dances before transfer to the airport for your departure.
