Day 1: Arrival to Bale Mountains
Arrive at the park headquarters and enjoy a leisurely afternoon hike through the surrounding area. Spot endemic mammals such as Menelik’s Bushbuck and Mountain Nyala and birds including Abyssinian Long Claw, Wattled Ibis, Black Headed Siskin and Rouget’s Rail. Overnight camping at 3,000 m.
Day 2: Dinsho to Sodota Trek
Begin trekking from Dinsho into the heart of the National Park. Hike through stunning landscapes and keep an eye out for rare Ethiopian Wolves and birds of prey. Pause at Habera Waterfall for a refreshing break before continuing to Sodota Campsite for an overnight stay at 3,500 m. The day covers approximately 20 km.
Day 3: Sodota to Adeley Trek
Trek through Web Valley and the park’s woodland areas, with opportunities to see Ethiopian Wolves, Giant Mole Rats and endemic birds. Enjoy the serene wilderness as you make your way to Adeley Campsite at 3,400 m. Total trekking distance is around 18 km.
Day 4: Hike Down to Dinsho and Departure
After breakfast, hike down through Hygenia and Juniper forests for about 2 hours, spotting Olive Baboons, Menelik’s Bushbuck, Mountain Nyala, Bohor Reedbuck, and diverse birdlife along the way. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa, marking the end of your tour.
