Day 1: Addis Ababa – Dodola
After breakfast, drive 350 km southeast to Dodola. Stop at Koka Lake and Lake Ziway for birdwatching and lunch at Shashamene. Arrive in Dodola in the late afternoon, check into your hotel, complete trekking preparations at the Adaba-Dodola Community Tourism office and enjoy dinner. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2: Dodola – Waharo
Drive to Changaiti (2,750 m) and start trekking along the Lensho River to Waharo (packed lunch in the bush). Explore the impressive rock formations around Waharo before camping overnight.
Day 3: Waharo – Angafo
Trek through forests and moorlands to Angafo (under 10 km, approx. 5 hours). Spot giant lobelias, thistles, and local wildlife along the way. Packed lunch in the bush. Overnight camping at Angafo.
Day 4: Angafo – Adele
Continue trekking 9 km across Hagenia and Hypericum forests, moorlands, and past caves, with views of Mount Kaka (4,100 m) and Mount Honkolo (3,900 m). Packed lunch in the bush. Observe Colobus monkeys and local birds. Overnight camping at Adele.
Day 5: Adele – Mololicho
Trek 18 km following a mountain valley and ridge, with views of the Wabe Shebele Reservoir. Abundant lobelias and torch lilies along the route. Packed lunch in the bush. Overnight camping at Mololicho.
Day 6: Mololicho – Duro
Full-day trekking to Duro (2,680 m), covering 18 km—the longest stretch between camps. Option to continue horse trekking to Bale Mountains National Park with prior arrangement. Packed lunch in the bush. Overnight camping at Duro.
Day 7: Duro – Bucha Raya – Awassa
Trek 9 km to Bucha Raya, enjoying panoramic views of the forest and Erica heather. Meet your vehicle and drive to Lake Awassa. Check into a resort, enjoy a hot shower and dinner. Overnight at hotel/resort.
Day 8: Awassa – Addis Ababa
Drive back to Addis Ababa in the morning. Enjoy a city tour and shopping, followed by a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant. Transfer to Bole International Airport for your departure.
